Keaggy/Levin/Marotta Live in Concert

Phil Keaggy, Tony Levin, Jerry Marotta The Bucket List album

Don’t miss the return of guitarist Phil Keaggy, bassist Tony Levin and drummer Jerry Marotta as they perform music from their latest release The Bucket List. This is the first time in more than a decade that the three of them have performed together in a concert setting.

Joining them on additional guitar is Mike Pachelli. Currently residing in Nashville, TN Mike describes his style as style an amalgamation of blues, jazz, rock, and neo-classical.

The opening act, Flav Martin, is no stranger to the band as he just released an album Soul Redemption with Jerry Marotta that features Tony Levin as well.

What the band has planned for these select shows is anyone’s guess but it will surely be a treat to those lucky enough to attend. Cross this off your Bucket List.

The Return of Keaggy, Levin & Marotta

Phil Keaggy Jerry Marotta Tony Levin Live in Concert
Good Things Come to Those That Wait

October marks the return of Phil Keaggy, Tony Levin and Jerry Marotta as they release their long awaited album, The Bucket List in addition to two very special concerts.

Considered to be one of the top guitarists in Contemporary Christian music, Phil Keaggy’s talent reaches well beyond being defined to a single genre, appealing to a wide range of musicians and fans alike. Phil has almost as many solo albums as Tony and Jerry have recorded with other musicians combined.

Tony Levin’s schedule filled up in the 70’s and has not had an opening since. He has recorded and toured with countless musicians. While considered to be one of the kings of prog on bass (what other bass player can say he’s performed with King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Yes, Pink Floyd, etc.) Tony’s playing is just as fluid on pop and jazz music.

Jerry Marotta along with Tony were the rhythm section for Peter Gabriel almost non-stop from 1976 – 1986. One would be hard pressed to figure out if Jerry or Tony are featured on more recordings than the other. Jerry may actually win that match. If someone is keeping track, let us know!

What began over 10 years ago as a get together in Jerry’s basement studio that spawned an impromptu recording session and a live show of improvisation has finally flourished into an official release. The Bucket List will finally see the light of day on January 11, 2019.

If you’ve ever imagined what Kate Bush would sound like singing this song this version will surely satisfy that question. Singer Happy Rhodes hits Kate’s register before shifting octaves for the song’s finale.

A Duet Past Due: Martin & Marotta

Pre-Order: February 6, 2018
Release: March 1, 2018

Soul Redemption is the debut release from guitarist/vocalist Flav Martin and drummer Jerry Marotta. This duet past due harmoniously blends modern folk rock with Italian pop music. Performed in a cafe in Italy or on the polo fields of Indio, these songs would feel comfortably at home in either environment.

Credited as one of the most innovative acoustic guitar players on the scene today, Flav Martin blends beautiful melodies with intricate technique, voicing, and a percussive style that leaves people saying “How does he do that?”.  Throughout his career Flav has performed with David Crosby, Al Stewart, Suzanne Vega, Tommy Emmanuel and more. Flav’s many writing credits include Saturday Night Live, PBS, Canon Films. All but two of the songs on this album were written by Flav.

World renowned drummer, touring and session musician/producer Jerry Marotta has left his mark on countless recordings by Paul McCartney, Hall & Oats, The Indigo Girls, Marc Cohn, Sarah MacLachlan, and John Mayer to name but a few. He first entered the music scene as the drummer for Orleans with the hit single “Still the One” followed by a decade of performing and recording with Peter Gabriel. His rhythmic drumming and world music inspired percussion complement the acoustic flavor of Flav’s guitar.

Backing up the duo are their long time friends Tony Levin (bass), Peter Primamore (piano), Thor Jensen (guitar), Mark Shulman (guitar), and Gary Schreiner (harmonica/accordion).
